Thanksgiving Menu Recap

This Thanksgiving was an untraditional one. Every year before I moved to Vancouver, I would spend the day at my mom's, helping her cook up a feast that included many, many dishes and a 10kg turkey. This year, my mom bought a 14kg turkey!! Wowza!

Unfortunately the last two years, I didn't have the chance to go back to Toronto for Thanskgiving, but last year I was fortunate to spend it with my boyfriend's family. This year, my boyfriend and I got sick so we remained indoors the majority of the weekend sipping on soup and taking lots of vitamin C. However, on Monday I mustered the strength to pick up some ingredients and spend a couple of hours in the kitchen, cooking up a feast.

This was my first time making turkey and a whole feast. I don't know how my mom does it every year, every holiday. To ease the process, I searched a couple recipes and called up my mom for her traditional turkey wrapped in bacon recipe.

Here's a recap of what I made:

Mashed Potatoes by Minimalist Baker  I didn't follow the exact recipe. I used real butter, added lots of garlic and skipped the chives (because I forgot to buy them) :-)
