What Are The Reasons Behind Your Actions?

Are you practicing yoga or exercising to lead a lifestyle that you think others will admire you for? Are you living a lifestyle for a particular status? Are you working out and following a restrictive diet because you want to lose weight so others will find you more attractive? What are the reasons behind your actions?


This morning, I woke up at 6:00 AM to go for a run. Barely awake, I dragged myself out of bed knowing someone was counting on me to be their running buddy. A part of me wanted to hide under the covers and catch an extra hour of shut eye, but the other half was actually looking forward to it because I knew it’d make me feel good. Feeling motivated to work out first thing in the morning when you have barely slept is a challenge, but when someone holds you accountable, it makes it slightly easier. Note: If you are looking to incorporate a new exercise regimen, get a friend to do it with you. Not only will it be more enjoyable, but you’ll be less likely to bail. 

Incorporating a new exercise regimen that is out of my element or running before sunrise is a way I challenge myself. It’s a way for me to prove to myself time and time again that I can achieve anything I put my mind to. Through my actions, I truly strive to inspire my community to fuel their life with nourishing foods, exercise and good intentions. 

I'm not the type to gloat but when I do something out of the ordinary or something I am proud of, I want to let people know. Not to get praise but to show people that each individual is capable and has the strength to make positive changes in their life, to take risks and thrive when the going gets tough. 

No matter what you do, you have to stay true to yourself and get in tune with your body.
