Drinking the same old green smoothie in the morning? Add a little kick to your smoothies by adding cilantro and lime. This strawberry cilantro smoothie is a great addition to your morning routine. Personally I go through phases where I'm hooked on a certain smoothie and will drink it 3-4 times a week. Then I reach a point where the sight of it makes me want to chuck it across the room. I've learned that variety is key when planning your meals for the day or week. So instead of my favourite strawberry peanut butter smoothie, I will substitute peanut butter for cilantro and lime.
Many might not like the taste of cilantro, (I know, I've been there) but palates develop and one day you'll discover that some foods don't taste that bad. I dare you to try it. And hey, if you don't like it at least you tried it right?
Strawberry Cilantro Smoothie
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1/2 banana
- Handful, cilantro
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1 cup almond milk (or water)
Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth and enjoy!
