#WBS15 + Recipe
I'm writing from the comfort of my hotel bed relaxing after a full day of networking and learning from wellness superheroes. It's day two of the Wellness Business Summit, 3-day business building event for licensed and non-licensed health and wellness professionals and entrepreneurs and I am so pumped to take action and bring my ideas to life. I'm surrounded by so many heroes (chiropractors, nutritionists, life coaches, fitness gurus, other wellness practitioners and aspiring wellness business owners). Honestly, there are people from all walks of life and it's truly inspiring! Inspiring can't even encompass my true feelings. This group of exceptional heroes are supportive, passionate, and hard working. They have a vision and purpose they want to share, live and breath. Some of us (or all), I can only speak for myself, entered the conference with a bit of doubt and confusion as to how to live abundantly and have financial freedom. In less than 24 hours, I now have a clearer view of my vision and purpose and I can't wait to share it with the world. Tomorrow is the last day and I can't wait to see what else they have lined up.
One of the goodies I've received in my gift bag was hemp hearts - a source of protein and magnesium (with 8 other benefits). Hemp hearts are great to add in smoothies, soups, snacks, hot drinks and salads. Considering it's a been a cold weekend, I'd like to share with you one of Manitoba Harvest's soup recipes (recipe taken directly from Manitoba Harvest's website).
- 1/4 cup Manitoba Harvest Hemp Oil
- 3 tbsp Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts (raw shelled hemp seed)
- 4 cups Carrots, chopped
- 3 cups Water
- 1/4 cup White Onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup Parsley
- 1/4 cup Arugala or Spinach
- 1/4 cup Sun Dried Tomato
- 1 tbsp Dried Oregano
- 1 large Avocado (peeled and chopped into cubes)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Dried Hot Pepper (optional)
Combine all ingredients (except avocado and Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts) in a blender. Blend on high until creamy smooth and warm (approx. 5 minutes.) This soup is wonderful served warm. Add some avocado into each serving bowl. Pour in the soup. Sprinkle the Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts on top. You can also garnish with a sprig of parsley.
