I follow a lot of inspiring people on Instagram who post delicious meals and give me endless food ideas. A recent photo I saw was that of banana mylk. If you ever run out of almond milk, hemp milk, rice milk or soy milk, simply blend 1 banana with a cup (or 2 cups) of filtered water. You end up with a sweet and frothy "mylk".
This afternoon, I was craving something sweet but something that would also hold me over for a bit. I blended a cup of banana mylk with Monkey Butter's Vanilla Spice Almond Butter. It's sweet from the banana, vanilla and honey with a hint of spice from the cardamom. The almond butter only has 1g of sugar and 3g of protein per tablespoon which makes for a great afternoon snack.
What are some of your favourite afternoon snacks? I'm curious... anyone know why they call it mylk with a 'y'? I wonder if it's just a fun way of spelling it.
Have a wonderful weekend!
