Day 1 - #fallinlovewithlifechallenge

Yesterday was day 1 of the #fallinlovewithlifechallenge on Instagram. This is a wonderful challenge for the month of October that will teach us to learn to love life all over again, radiate nothing but positive vibes and love ourselves. Each day, Jen (from Jen does green) and Lauren (from Blonde Vegan Hippie) share a detailed description of each day the night before. I'm super excited to take part in this challenge. I just returned from a 11 day solo trip out west (Vancouver, Whistler and Edmonton) and this is a great way to start a brand new month with a positive attitude. I might feel a little blue knowing that my trip is over and it's back to reality, but this challenge will be a good reminder that life is full of adventures and new beginnings whether or not you are on vacation.

For Day 1 of the challenge, we were told to write down 3-5 positive affirmations that we will be saying for the next 31 days! Every morning when we wake up and at night before we go to bed, we recite these affirmations! We use them during the day and as often as needed until we truly believe what we are saying!

As I was brainstorming some positive affirmations of my own, I researched the impact of affirmations on your development and outlook on life. I found a great Huffington Post article "35 Affirmations That Will Change Your Life" that stated the following:

"Affirmations do indeed strengthen us by helping us believe in the potential of an action we desire to manifest. When we verbally affirm our dreams and ambitions, we are instantly empowered with a deep sense of reassurance that our wishful words will become reality.

Affirmations are proven methods of self-improvement because of their ability to rewire our brains. Much like exercise, they raise the level of feel-good hormones and push our brains to form new clusters of "positive thought" neurons (http://www.arlenetaylor.org/brain-care/953-affirmation). This article instantly sparked something within me and I got excited to begin the month on a positive note and start living to my full potential. Here are my 5 (+1 bonus) affirmations!

I am the architect of my life; I build its foundation and choose its contents.

I am superior to negative thoughts and low actions. 

I possess the qualities needed to be extremely successful. 

I deserve to be employed and paid well for my time, efforts, and ideas. Each day, I am closer to finding the perfect job for me. 

I am blessed with an incredible family and wonderful friends. 

Today, I am brimming with energy and overflowing with joy.
